Scope
This standard specifies the basic requirements for marine low-voltage electrical appliances, including terminology, characteristics, normal working and installation conditions, structure and performance requirements, verification of characteristics and performance, etc. This standard applies to control appliances and power distribution appliances for ships, mobile and fixed offshore installations with a voltage of AC 1000V or DC 1200V and below (hereinafter referred to as marine electrical appliances). See Chapter 4 for applicable product categories.
