Standard Formulation Background and Technology Evolution Analysis
Basalt fiber is a high-performance inorganic non-metallic material. Due to its excellent mechanical properties, high temperature resistance and chemical stability, it has broad application prospects in composite materials, fire insulation, aerospace and other fields.
Classification and Codes
Basalt fiber is divided into five categories according to its performance characteristics: general type, high strength type, high modulus type, alkali salt corrosion resistance type and high temperature resistance type. Each category has corresponding classification indicators and codes.
Comparison of performance indicators by classification and grading
| Classification | Key performance indicators | Indicator range |
|---|---|---|
| General purpose basalt fiber | Tensile strength/MPa | ≥2500~<3000 |
| - | Tensile elastic modulus/GPa | V8~<90 |
| High strength basalt fiber | Tensile strength/MPa | BS I: >3 000~<3 500; BS II: ≥3 500 |
| High modulus basalt fiber | Tensile elastic modulus/GPa | BM I: V9~<100;BM II: ≥100 |
| Alkali-salt erosion resistant basalt fiber | Tensile breaking strength of yarn after erosion/(N/tex) | BAS I: ≥0.35~<0.45;BAS II: ≥0.45 |
| High temperature resistant basalt fiber | Tensile breaking strength of yarn after heat treatment/(N/tex) | BTR I: ≥0.40~<0.50; BTR II: ≥0.50 |
Implementation suggestions
In practical applications, the appropriate type of basalt fiber should be selected according to specific needs. For example, in a high temperature resistant environment, high temperature resistant basalt fiber (BTR series) is preferred, while in an environment that resists alkali and salt erosion, alkali and salt erosion resistant basalt fiber (BAS series) should be selected.
