Introduction
Analysis of core design elements
According to the GB/T 38650-2020 standard, pipeline safety markings must include four core elements:
| Element type | Technical requirements | Application example |
|---|---|---|
| Color code | Basic identification color + yellow safety color combination, chromaticity coordinates comply with Table 2 | Gas pipelines use gray base + yellow warning strip |
| Media name | Bilingual in Chinese and English, character height ≥10mm, equal line font | "Liquefied petroleum gas LPG" |
| Flow direction indicator | Arrow height ≥10mm, one-way/two-way design is allowed | Two-way arrows are used for circular pipes |
| Hazard pictogram | In compliance with GB 30000 standard, height ≥20mm | Corrosive substances are equipped with GHS corrosion symbol |
Key technical specifications
1. Color system implementation
The standard establishes a dual color coding system:
- Basic identification colors: 8 primary colors corresponding to media types (such as blue - air)
- Auxiliary identification colors: 5 extended colors for special identification (such as brown - fire protection system)
Color measurement adopts CIE
| Color type | Brightness factor range | Typical application |
|---|---|---|
| Safety yellow | 0.45-0.65 | Toxic substance warning |
| Industrial blue | ≥0.05 | Compressed air pipeline |
Implementation suggestions
Chemical pipeline marking scheme
The marking of the hydrochloric acid pipeline in a chemical plant includes:
- Color area: purple base (GHS corrosive) + yellow warning strip
- Text information: "Hydrochloric acid HCl concentration ≥ 37%"
- Pictogram: GHS corrosion symbol + respiratory protection symbol
- Technical parameters: pressure 0.8MPa/temperature 25℃
Set the spacing to 6 meters, and add repeated marks at key valves.
Standard Evolution Analysis
Main improvements compared to the old version of the standard:
- Added GHS hazard pictogram integration requirements
- Refined the photometric parameters of color measurement
- Cleared the marking scheme for small diameter pipes (<150mm)
- Added multi-language processing specifications
