Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

This standard specifies the technical specifications for the determination of chlorine content in tungsten compounds by ion chromatograph, focusing on two types of samples:

Technical innovation

This standard innovatively uses oxygen bomb combustion device to treat organic tungsten compounds, and achieves complete decomposition through 3.0MPa high-pressure oxygen environment, and carbonate absorption liquid can effectively capture volatile chlorine elements. Compared with traditional methods, the recovery rate is increased by about 15%.


Precision control requirements

The standard strictly stipulates the repeatability limit (r) and reproducibility limit (R):

  • When the content of tungsten nitrate is 0.00899%, the repeatability limit is ≤0.00137%
  • When the content of tungsten acetate is 0.0836%, the reproducibility limit is ≤0.0236%

Implementation suggestions

  1. Glassware needs to be pretreated with 80g/L sodium hydroxide solution for 4 hours
  2. It is recommended to use PVDF microporous filter membrane (0.22μm) to filter the sample
  3. The correlation coefficient of the working curve must be ≥0.999

Background of Standard Evolution

With the increasing purity requirements of tungsten compounds in the precious metal catalyst industry, the original method can no longer meet the needs of ppb-level chlorine detection. This standard optimizes the chromatographic conditions (eluent: 3.2mmol/L Na2CO3 + 1.0mmol/L NaHCO3) to reduce the detection limit by one order of magnitude compared with the 2005 version of the standard.
