Introduction
Interpretation of the core content of the standard
GB/T39405-2020 is my country's first national standard that comprehensively regulates the classification of robots. It was jointly drafted by 26 units including Shenyang Siasun Robotics. The standard innovatively established a five-dimensional classification system, solving the problem of single and overlapping dimensions in traditional classification.
Comparative analysis of classification frameworks
| Classification dimensions | First-level categories | Second-level category examples | Innovation points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Application areas | Industrial robots | Welding/assembly/cleaning robots | New subcategory of Clean robots |
| Service robots | Elderly care and disabled assistance/catering robots | Distinguishing between personal/public services | |
| Special robots | Surgery/explosion disposal robots | Including 12 professional fields |
Evolution of key technologies
The standard clarifies for the first time the independent classification status of collaborative robots, reflecting the development trend of human-machine collaboration. Taking the UBTECH Walker bipedal robot as an example, it also involves:
- Movement mode: foot-leg type (secondary classification: biped)
- Control mode: collaborative robot (subclass: human-machine collaboration)
- Application field: public service robot
Implementation suggestions
Enterprises should pay attention to the following when applying this standard:
- Product declaration should select the last level classification (such as "six-axis articulated industrial robot")
- Compound robots need to declare all applicable classifications
- Emerging categories can be classified as "others"
