Introduction
Standard Overview and Technological Evolution
GB/T 39617-2020 is my country's revised and adopted standard for ISO 17907:2014, which puts forward special requirements for the design, manufacture and acceptance of single point mooring equipment for oil tankers. Compared with international standards, the main technical evolution is reflected in:
- The scope of application focuses on oil tankers (the original standard includes gas/chemical tankers)
- The hard indicator of new material yield strength ≥235N/mm2
- The test loading time is extended from 1 minute to 5 minutes

Special requirements for materials and manufacturing
Typical application case
When a 150,000-ton oil tanker is equipped with a double chain stopper, the following conditions must be met:
- Single SWL≥350 tons
- Forgings are tested according to GB/T6402-2008 Level 2 standard
- Welds must pass a 5-minute continuous loading test
Implementation suggestions
Design phase
- The distance between the cable guide roller and the rear end of the chain stopper is ≥3m
- Emergency towing device can be used as reusable mooring equipment
Acceptance points
- Magnetic particle inspection of all load-bearing castings
- Operating lever force ≤245N (verified by 25kg counterweight)
- Mark with permanent SWL logo
