- Scope of application: Limited to flexible/rigid consumer product packaging recyclates, excluding hazardous goods packaging materials
- Special requirements: Stabilizers need to be added to compensate for the unknown stabilizer content in the recyclate
- Specimen preparation: Strictly follow the process parameters specified in ISO19069-2

Technological evolution and implementation suggestions
Comparison of PP/PE ratio determination technologies
The standard recommends that the supplier's traceability documents should be used to determine the ratio. The FTIR spectroscopy method (Appendix A) is only for reference:
- The FTIR method estimates the ratio of the absorption peaks at 1370cm-1 and 1464cm-1
- There is an error of ±15%, which is not suitable for complex systems containing copolymers
- It is recommended to combine DSC and other thermal analysis techniques for verification
Key points for mechanical property regulation
Appendix B shows that when PP/PE=70/30:
- Tensile strength reaches 27.0MPa
- Elongation at break 300%
- Presents a typical "sea-island" phase structure (TEM verification)
Notes on standard implementation
State conditioning: All mechanical properties tests must be conditioned at (23±2)℃ for 40-96 hours (ISO291)
Data comparability: It is recommended to test pure PP/PE reference samples simultaneously to establish the benchmark data of this laboratory
Safety tips: During melt processing, attention should be paid to the volatile impurities that may be contained in the recycled materials
