Analysis of the core content of the standard

Polymer homogeneous dense membrane is defined as a non-porous membrane made of polymer materials with a uniform structure. The gas permeability performance test must follow the dissolution-diffusion mechanism.

Key requirements for test instruments

Gas permeability tester must meet the following requirements:
  • Vacuum gauge accuracy 0.2%FS
  • Permeation cell design pressure 6.0MPa
  • Helium leakage rate ≤4.04×10⁻¹⁰Pa·m³/s

Analysis of standard technology evolution

Compared with earlier test methods, this standard innovatively:

  1. Clearly distinguishes the calculation methods of the three coefficients (P, D, S)
  2. Specifies the selection conditions of the buffer tank (enabled when testing high permeability samples)
  3. Refine sample pretreatment requirements (dryer storage ≥48h)

Implementation suggestions

Key points of operation

  • The average value of 10 different positions should be taken for sample thickness measurement
  • System vacuum degassing time ≥24 hours
  • Test temperature fluctuation should be controlled within ±0.5℃

Error control

It is recommended to use standard film for regular calibration:
1. Volume V1/V2 of the lower side of the sample
2. System airtightness (vacuum degree ≤4Pa)
