Scope
This International Standard provides guidance on the use and understanding of the conventional control chart (also known as Shewhart control chart) method for the statistical control of processes. This standard applies only to statistical process control methods using conventional control charts. Certain supplementary material consistent with conventional control charts is briefly presented, such as the application of alert limits, analysis of trend patterns, and process capability. There are also some control chart methods, their general description can be found in GB/T 17989.
