Introduction
Interpretation of the National Standard GB/T4310-2016 for Vanadium
1. Background and Significance of Standard Formulation
GB/T4310-2016 is a national standard for vanadium products, replacing the previous GB/T4310-1984. This standard is mainly applicable to vanadium produced by molten salt electrolytic refining, which is used in superconducting materials, fast neutron reactor structural materials and special alloy additives.
2. Comparison of standard frameworks
| Standard version | Chemical composition requirements | Particle size range | Impurity content limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| GB/T4310—2016 | - Four grades from V-1 to V-4, with gradually relaxed impurity content | Not less than 0.25mm, a small amount of out-of-range products is allowed (≤4%) | The content of impurity elements such as Fe, Cr, Al is strictly controlled |
| GB/T4310—1984 | - No clear division of grades | Unclear particle size requirements | Relatively loose impurity content limits |
Actual application cases
For example, in the manufacture of superconducting materials, V-1 grade vanadium is widely used in high-end scientific research due to its extremely low impurity content. V-4 grade, however, is suitable for industrial-grade alloy production due to its high impurity tolerance.
3. Analysis of Technological Evolution
- New content:Normative reference documents (YS/T540), margin definition, and test methods are clarified
- Optimized content:Batch rules are expanded to ≤20kg, packaging requirements are updated, and order form content is supplemented
- Technological improvement:Chemical composition analysis accuracy is improved, and particle size control is stricter
4. Implementation suggestions
To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, the following suggestions are made:
- Manufacturers:Establish a complete chemical composition analysis and particle size detection system, and use the YS/T540 method for detection.
- Purchasers:Strengthen visual inspection and sampling inspection in the acceptance link to ensure compliance with the standard requirements.
- Quality Supervision Department: Promote standardized training and improve the overall technical level of the industry.
