Introduction
Interpretation of GB/T 43151—2023 Technical Standard
I. Background and Significance of the Standard
With the development of my country's steel structure industry, weathering steel has been widely used in outdoor buildings and bridges due to its excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance. GB/T 43151—2023 "High-strength bolted connection pairs made of weathering steel for steel structures" is a technical standard formulated for such key connectors, aiming to ensure their mechanical properties, durability and reliability.
II. Scope of application of the standard
This standard applies to:
- High-strength bolted connection pairs with thread specifications of M12~M36.
- Products with performance grades of NH8.8S/NH8H and NH10.9S/NH10H.
- Applicable to steel structures, especially structural parts made of weathering steel.
III. Materials and performance requirements
| Project | Specific requirements |
|---|---|
| Chemical composition (mass fraction)% | C: 0.30~0.52, Mn: ≥0.60, P: ≤0.035, S: ≤0.040, Cu: 0.20~0.60, Ni: >0.20, Cr: ≥0.45, Mo: ≥0.10 |
| Mechanical properties (tensile strength Rm/MPa) | NH8.8S: 830~1030, NH10.9S: 1040~1190 |
| Atmospheric corrosion resistance index I | I ≥6.0 (calculated according to GB/T 4171) |
Fourth, functional characteristics of the connection pair
The average torque coefficient of the large hexagonal head bolt connection pair is 0.110~0.150, and the standard deviation should not exceed 0.010. The coefficient of variation of the tightening axial force of the torsion shear type bolt connection pair must be ≤0.10.
Five, surface treatment and quality inspection
The connection pair needs to be surface treated to ensure the torque coefficient or tightening axial force:
- Bolt:Mark the manufacturer's identification code and performance grade (such as NH××.S).
- Nuts: are marked with "NH×H", where the numbers represent the highest performance level that can be matched.
- Washers: The hardness range is 329HV30~436HV30 (35HRC~45HRC).
VI. Packaging and storage requirements
The packaging box should be moisture-proof, and the weight of each box should not exceed 40kg, with bolts, nuts and washers packed separately inside. During transportation, it is necessary to load and unload gently to prevent thread damage.
Comparison of standard frameworks and analysis of technological evolution
| Dimensions | GB/T 43151—2023 | Comparison standards |
|---|---|---|
| Material requirements | Added chemical composition limits for weathering steel, and refined the requirements for decarburized layer and grain size. | No specific chemical composition indicators are involved, only basic hardenability is specified. |
| Mechanical properties | Clear requirements for tensile strength, yield ratio and weathering index. | Only basic mechanical properties are specified, and corrosion resistance assessment is not involved. |
| Connection characteristics | Added torque coefficient and tightening axial force indicators, and refined surface treatment requirements. | No specific connection performance parameters are involved. |
Implementation suggestions
1. Material selection:Preferably use weathering steel materials that meet the chemical composition requirements of Table 1 to ensure that the tempering temperature requirements (≥427℃) are met after processing.
2. Manufacturing process:It is recommended to use oil-cooling quenching process to ensure that the bolt core obtains about 90% martensite structure before tempering. At the same time, pay attention to controlling the depth of the decarburized layer to not exceed 1% of the nominal diameter.
3. Quality inspection:Strictly follow the inspection items and sampling quantity specified in Table A.2, focusing on chemical composition, mechanical properties, surface quality and macrostructure.
4. Application scenarios:Applicable to steel structure projects exposed to atmospheric corrosion environments, such as bridges, outdoor venues and coastal facilities. It is recommended to regularly check the weather resistance and mechanical properties of fasteners.
