Scope

This International Standard specifies terminology specific to flame emission, atomic absorption, and atomic fluorescence spectrometry, with the aim of facilitating understanding among analysts. In order to achieve the greatest possible harmonization, this standard takes into account to the greatest extent possible the existing technical terms in French and English. Especially the terminology of IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) is considered.
