Analysis of the core content of the standard

GB/T 44802-2024 specifies the technical requirements for insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) drivers in flexible DC transmission systems, which are applicable to transmission systems of ±800kV and below that use modular multilevel converter (MMC) technology. The standard systematically defines 17 key parameters and 14 protection function requirements for drivers for the first time.

1. Dynamic characteristics control

For the first time, the standard clearly requires that the driver must control the di/dt≤1000A/μs and dv/dt≤20kV/μs of the IGBT, and achieve a balance between switching loss and electromagnetic interference by optimizing the gate resistance.
