Scope

This standard specifies the scope of application, terminology, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs and safety requirements of capacitor voltage transformers. This standard applies to single-phase capacitive voltage transformers (hereinafter referred to as "transformers") that provide voltage signals for electrical measuring instruments, meters, protection and control devices that are connected between the line and the ground in an AC power system with a frequency of 50Hz or 60Hz. "). This transformer can also be used as a coupling capacitor for power line carrier communication systems. This standard does not apply to transformers with rated output lower than 10VA.
