《GB/T 4728.6-2008电气简图用图形符号 第6部分：电能的发生与转换》由TC27（全国电气信息结构、文件编制和图形符号标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为国家标准化管理委员会。
GB/T 4728《电气简图用图形符号》分为13个部分,本部分为GB/T 4728的第6部分，等同采用IEC 60617 database《电气简图用图形符号》数据库标准（IEC60617_Snapshot-2007-08-03英文版）。本部分代替了GB/T 4728.6-2000《电气简图用图形符号　第6部分：电能的发生与转换》。

GB/T 4728 "Graphic symbols for diagrams" can be divided into 13 parts:
——Part 1: General requirements;
——Part 2: Symbols element, limitation symbol and other conventional signs;
——Part 3: Conductor and connecting piece
——Part 4: Basic passive component
——Part 5: Semiconductors and Electron Tubes;
——Part 6: Production and conversion of electrical energy
——Part 7: Switchgear, controlgear and protective Devices;
——Part 8: Measuring instruments, lamps and signal device;
——Part 9: Telecommunications: Switching and Peripheral Equipment;
——Part 10: Telecommunications: Transmission;
——Part 11: Architectural and Topographical Installation Plans and Diagrams;
——Part 12: Binary logic element;
——Part 13: Analogue element.
This section is part 6 of GB/T 4728 and identical to the "Graphical symbols for diagrams" (IEC 60617) (IEC 60617_Snapshot_ 2007-08-03 English edition).
This part will replace Graphical symbols for diagrams-Part 6: Production and conversion of electrical energy (GB/T 4728.6- 2000) .Compared with GB /T 4728.6—2000, the alterations are as follows:
——New symbols added: S01837, S01838, S01839, S01840, S01841, S01842, S01843, S01846, S01833, and S01834;
——5 symbols are abolished: S00815 (06-03-01), S00816 (06-03-02), S00817 (06-03-03), S00822 (06-03-03), S00892 (06-14-01);
According to IEC 60617 database standard, more information is listed for each symbol compared with the old edition.
