《GB/T 5023.5-2008额定电压450/750V及以下聚氯乙烯绝缘电缆第5部分：软电缆（软线）》由TC213（全国电线电缆标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国电器工业协会。
GB/T 5023《额定电压450／750V及以下聚氯乙烯绝缘电缆》分为七个部分，本部分为GB/T 5023的第5部分。
本部分代替GB 5023.5-1997《额定电压450/750V及以下聚氯乙烯绝缘电缆第2部分：试验方法》。
GB/T 5023的本部分详细规定了额定电压300/500V及以下聚氯乙烯软电缆（软线）的技术要求。
所有电缆均应符合GB/T 5023.1规定的相应要求，并且各种型号电缆应分别符合本部分规定的特殊要求。
本部分与GB 5023.5-1997相比主要变化如下：
――规范性引用文件中增加了下列文件：
　　IEC 60719额定电压450/750V及以下圆形铜导体电缆平均外径上限和下限的计算方法；
――删除了第3章扁形无护套软线60227 IEC 42；
――增加了导体温度为90℃的耐热轻型聚氯乙烯护套软线（60227 IEC 56）；
――增加了导体温度为90℃的耐热普通聚氯乙烯护套软线（60227 IEC 57）；
――60227 IEC 43型电缆设定平均外形尺寸下限；
――4.3.2中修改为70℃绝缘电阻应不小于表５第７栏的规定值；
――第4章户内装饰照明回路用软线导体修改为GB/T 3596-1997中第5种导体。

Scope

This part of GB/T 5023 specifies the technical requirements for polyvinyl chloride flexible cables (cords) with rated voltages up to and including 300/500V in detail. All cables shall comply with the corresponding requirements specified in GB/T 5023.1, and cables of various types shall comply with the special requirements specified in this Part.
