Introduction
Background of Standard Evolution
This standard replaces the 1985 version of GB/T 5082. The main technical changes include: deletion of 6 items such as sound signals and management requirements, and expansion of hand gestures from the original 12 to 28, which is completely consistent with the international standard ISO 16715:2014. The revision focuses on:
| Comparison dimensions | 1985 version | 2019 version |
|---|---|---|
| Signal type | 12 basic gestures | 28 refined gestures |
| Scope of application | General cranes | Crawler type/Automobile type and other special equipment |
| Safety requirements | Attached management clauses | Pure technical specifications |
Core gesture signal analysis
4.1 General requirements
The signal sender must: be in a position visible to the crane operator, maintain a single signal source (except emergency stop), and the combined signal must have clear priority.
4.3 Vertical Movement Signals
| Signal Name | Action Guidelines | Safety Threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Uniform Raise | One arm overhead, index finger making a circle | Speed ≤0.5m/s |
| Slow Descent | Main signal hand + auxiliary palm downward | Speed ≤0.2m/s |
Implementation and Application Suggestions
Case Study: During the operation of class=instrument>port gantry cranes, when the load needs to move horizontally and the boom needs to be raised or lowered at the same time, composite signals should be used according to clause 4.5.7:
1. Extend the left hand horizontally with the thumb pointing upward (boom raising)
2. Make a circle with the right hand downward (load lowering)
Ensure that the interval between the two signals is ≥3 seconds
Special equipment such as crawler cranes should pay attention to clause 4.4.5: Single-side crawler locking requires a fist gesture to clearly identify the locked side.
