Introduction

1. Standard background and technical evolution analysis

The National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T783-2023 "Basic Parameters Series of Lifting Machinery" is an integration and optimization of GB/T783-2013 and GB/T790-1995. This revision mainly adds term definitions, improves the series values of key parameters such as maximum lifting weight, span, gauge, amplitude, lifting height, and lowering depth, and makes technical updates based on actual application needs.

2. Standard Framework Comparison

Version Main changes Scope of application
GB/T783-2013 The maximum lifting weight series is optimized, applicable to the maximum lifting weight of basic types of lifting machinery. General purpose lifting machinery such as bridge cranes and gantry cranes.
GB/T790—1995 Added span and lifting height series, mainly for electric bridge cranes. Electric bridge cranes and related equipment.
GB/T783—2023 Integrated and optimized the contents of the first two versions, added new parameters such as gauge, amplitude, lifting range, and improved the speed series. Applicable to all types of lifting machinery, including mobile cranes, jib cranes, etc.

3. Interpretation of core parameters and application cases

3.1 Maximum lifting weight series (Table 1)

Maximum lifting weight series: Table 1 lists the recommended maximum lifting weights of lifting machinery, ranging from 0.1 tons to more than 5,000 tons. It is particularly important to note that the values in brackets are non-preferred values. In actual applications, the non-bracketed parameters indicated in the table should be selected as much as possible.

3.2 Span and gauge series (Table 2)

Span and gauge: Table 2 specifies the preferred span values for bridge cranes and gantry cranes, and allows for negotiation and adjustment based on actual needs. For example, the span can be selected from standard values such as 7 meters, 9 meters, and 16 meters, and the gauge of the jib crane can also be implemented by reference.

3.3 Amplitude series (Table 3)

Amplitude series: Table 3 provides recommended values for the amplitude range of lifting machinery, which is applicable to different types of cranes. For example, the amplitude can select standard values such as 2 meters, 6 meters, and 28 meters, and it is allowed to adjust every 5 meters when it is greater than 100 meters.

4. Implementation suggestions

Optimization suggestions: In actual applications, the non-bracket parameter values indicated in the table should be used first. For special circumstances (such as special lifting requirements or site restrictions), they should be negotiated and determined with the supplier on the premise of ensuring safety.

Technical update: GB/T783-2023 introduces new terms and definitions, and improves the speed series. It is recommended that enterprises fully consider these new changes in equipment selection and technical transformation to improve the efficiency and safety of lifting machinery.
