1. Aspects Covered

This standard specifies the size, shape, weight, tolerance, specification, testing method, inspection rules, package, mark and quality certificate of hot-rolled or hot-forged quality carbon structure steel.
This standard is applicable to quality carbon structure steel rod whose diameter or thickness is not greater than 250mm. Through negotiation between buyers and sellers, quality carbon structure steel rod whose diameter or thickness is greater than 250mm can also be supplied.
Grades and chemical composition prescribed in this standard are also applicable to steel ingot and steel billet products.

Contract or order made according to this standard shall contain the following content:
A) Serial number of standard;
B) Name of product;
C) Grade or uniform numerical code;
D) Delivery weight (quantity);
E) Accuracy class of specification and size;
F) Use and processing method;
G) Delivery condition;
H) Impact test (if necessary, according to 6.4.1);
I) dump test (if necessary, according to 6.5);
J) Non-metallic inclusion (if necessary, according to 6.7);
K) Decarburized layer (if necessary, according to 6.8);
L) Special requirements (if necessary, according 6.10).
