Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the roundness error by measuring the radius change with a contact (contact type) instrument and the general characteristics of the instrument. This standard is applicable to evaluate the deviation of the part contour from the ideal circle with any of the following centers after contour transformation under given conditions. The center of the smallest area circle; the center of the least square square circle; the center of the smallest circumscribed circle; the center of the largest inscribed circle.
