Scope

This standard specifies the principle of automatic eddy current flaw detection for seamless steel pipes and welded steel pipes (except submerged arc welded steel pipes), flaw detection methods, comparison samples, flaw detection equipment, flaw detection conditions and procedures, and judgment of flaw detection inspection results. This standard applies to steel pipes with an outer diameter of not less than 4mm for eddy current testing. The acceptance level of this standard is divided into A level and B level (see Table 1 and Table 2). Acceptance level A can be used as an alternative method for the hydraulic tightness test of steel pipes.
