Introduction
Standard Update and Technological Evolution
This standard replaces GB/T 8188-2003 version. The main revisions include:
- Adjust the scope of application to various types of engines and vehicles
- Update referenced standards such as GB 17691, GB 20891, etc.
- Reconstruct the terminology classification system, and add 32 new technical terms such as DPF, SCR
- Delete 7 outdated technical definitions
Core Terminology Analysis
| Term Classification | Key Definitions | Engineering Significance |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical Pollutants | NOx(4.7), PM(4.14), PAHs(3.11) | Quantitative detection benchmark, such as NOx measured in NO2 equivalent |
| After-treatment system | Three-way catalyst (5.4.2.3), CDPF (5.5.2 Note) | Light-off temperature requirement for catalytic conversion efficiency ≥50% |
| Test method | ESC(9.9), WHTC(9.13) | Emission certification procedures under different working conditions |
Technical application case
Diesel engine emission control combination technology
Typical configuration: class=instrument>EGR(8.3)+DOC(5.4.2.1)+SCR(5.4.4)+DPF(5.5.2):
- EGR reduces combustion temperature to control NOx generation
- DOC oxidizes HC/CO and increases exhaust temperature to assist DPF regeneration
- SCR injects urea to achieve deep NOx purification
- DPF capture efficiency must meet ≥90%(5.5.1)
Implementation Suggestions
Enterprise Application Guidelines
- The new terminology system needs to be updated synchronously with the enterprise technical documents
- Test equipment calibration must comply with the 10.16-10.19 gas standards
- After-treatment system labeling should comply with 5.4.3 carrier type definition
Regulatory considerations
- NMHC (4.11) detection needs to distinguish methane components
- OBRVR (6.1.16) system needs to be certified separately
- Catalyst degradation coefficient (5.3) should be included in type approval
