Scope

This standard specifies test methods for simulating in the laboratory the natural aging effects of flexible and rigid foamed polymeric materials such as oxidation or hydrolysis due to moisture. The relevant aging effects are characterized by measuring the relevant physical and mechanical properties before and after aging. This standard is applicable to open-cell latex, open-cell polyurethane foam, and closed-cell polyurethane foam. The test conditions for other materials will be supplemented when necessary.
