Scope

This standard specifies the general method for the determination of reduced potassium permanganate substances by direct method (visual colorimetric method) and indirect method (titration analysis method). The direct method of this standard is suitable for the determination of neutral alcohols, ketones or other neutral, weakly acidic and alkaline samples when the content of reduced potassium permanganate is low; the indirect method is suitable for the determination of reduced potassium permanganate in samples. It is difficult to determine the reaction between the reduced potassium permanganate substance and potassium permanganate in the sample.
