Scope

This standard specifies the general method for the conversion of carbonyl compounds into 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone and its determination by colorimetry. This standard applies to the determination of trace carbonyl compounds in organic reagents. The detection range of spectrophotometry or visual colorimetry is 0.2 μg/mL~1.6 μg/mL (calculated as CO).
