本标准规定了旋转电机的结构及安装型式的代号在技术内容上是与IEC34-7(1972)相一致的。代号分为两种，如规定1和规定2。具有端盖式轴承和一个轴伸的电机，应优先采用规定1的代号。在电机的产品标准、产品样本、任务书和其它文件中，以及标志结构及安装型式代号的电机铭牌上，所采用的电机结构及安装型式代号应符合本标准的规定。本标准未列入的结构及安装型式，可在上述文件或铭牌中作完整的说明。
