Introduction

Background of Standard Evolution

MH/T 1002.1-2016 replaces the 1995 version of the standard. The main technical changes include: reconstruction of the terminology system (adding 6 items/deleting 2 items), improvement of indicator accuracy (the allowable error of droplet diameter is reduced by 15%), and improvement of detection methods (adding 3 measurement methods such as spectral analysis). This standard and MH/T 0017-1998 "Technical Terminology of Agricultural Aviation" form a supporting technical system.

Comparative analysis of core indicators

Parameters 1995 version 2016 version Range of change
Allowable error of spraying rate ±8% ±5% Accuracy improved by 37.5%
Droplet coverage density (constant) 200-350 pieces/cm² 250-400 pieces/cm² Lower limit increased by 25%
Droplet spectrum width (VMD/NMD) Not specified ≤2.5 New key indicators

Key term analysis

Volume median diameter (VMD): Characterizes the overall particle size distribution of the droplet group. When a centrifugal nozzle is used, the typical value is 150-300μm. For example, in the control of cotton bollworm, VMD needs to be controlled within the range of 200±20μm.

Droplet spectrum width: Reflects the uniformity of particle size. The standard requires ≤1.5 when spraying at ultra-low volume. Actual measured cases show that the spectral width of a rotary atomizer is usually 0.3-0.5 lower than that of a pressure nozzle.

Implementation suggestions

  1. Equipment selection: For constant volume spraying, fan-shaped nozzles are preferred. For ultra-low volume spraying, cage-type atomizers are recommended.
  2. Parameter calibration: For every 5m increase in flight altitude, the spray width needs to be expanded by 1.2-1.5 times.
  3. Quality control: For every 100 hectares of operation, the uniformity of droplet deposition should be verified once.

Innovation in measurement methods

The computer image analysis system method newly added in the 2016 version is 8 times more efficient than the traditional microscope method:

  • Sampling piece analysis speed: 120 pieces/hour (traditional method 15 pieces/hour)
  • Particle size classification accuracy: up to 0.1μm
  • Data output: Automatically generate PDF format test report
