Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

Synthetic hydrocarbon aviation fuel refers to the paraffin-based kerosene fraction produced by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis or fatty acid hydrogenation process, which needs to be blended with traditional aviation fuel in a ratio of ≤50%.

Comparison of key technical indicators

Test items Requirements for traditional aviation fuel Additional requirements for synthetic hydrocarbons Test methods
Aromatic content ≤25% ≥8% GB/T 11132
Distillation temperature difference - T50-T10≥15℃
T90-T10≥40℃
ASTM D 2887
Sulfur content ≤0.3% ≤15mg/kg(synthetic component) ASTM D 5453

Synthesis Process Characteristics Analysis

Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FT-SPK)

  • Feedstock: natural gas/coal-based synthesis gas
  • Characteristics: Cycloalkanes ≤15%, almost no aromatics
  • Density range: 730-770kg/m³

Fatty Acid Hydrogenation (HEFA-SPK)

  • Feedstock: animal and vegetable oils and fats
  • Key Control: FAME content ≤5mg/kg
  • Metal impurities: single item ≤0.1mg/kg

Key points for implementation

  1. Batch management: Synthetic components are only applicable to initial production batches
  2. Additive specifications: Antioxidants need to be added immediately after fractionation (17-24mg/L)
  3. Thermal stability verification: Tube wall rating <3 after 2.5 hours of testing at 325℃

Background of standard evolution

This standard is based on the framework of GB 6537/DEF-STAN 91-91, and adds the following for the characteristics of synthetic hydrocarbon fuels:

  • Specify the manufacturing process requirements for synthetic components
  • Establish a distillation temperature difference compensation mechanism
  • Strengthen trace element control (N≤2mg/kg)
