Boundary topographic map revisions must meet the following requirements: 1:50,000 scale mapping within a 5km radius on both sides of the boundary. In important areas, total stations should be used for boundary stake coordinate measurement. Elevation measurement accuracy must meet fourth-class leveling requirements.

Analysis of Standard Evolution

Main improvements of this standard compared to the 2006 Boundary Survey Notice: New digital surveying and mapping acceptance specifications have been added, clarifying that boundary stake coordinate measurement must use the 2000 National Geodetic Coordinate System, and adding requirements for electronic archiving of the attached documents to the agreement.

Implementation Recommendations

Establish a joint boundary survey working group, equipped with professional equipment such as GNSS receivers.
Disputed areas should adopt a three-step approach of "demarcation on map - field investigation - joint adjudication."
Boundary marker maintenance should be implemented under a segmented responsibility system, with joint inspections every five years.
