Scope
This standard specifies methods for evaluating the performance of automobile engine oils such as their resis ance to oxidation and thickening, resis ance to the formation of paint film deposits, anti-wear performance and oil consumption at high temperatures. This standard is applicable to the performance evaluation of gasoline engine oil and the performance evaluation of diesel engine oil with the test requirements of Procedure IIIG.
