Scope

This standard specifies the selection, installation design, installation, maintenance and testing methods of nuclear power plant uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system battery packs, and gives the relationship between UPS battery charging, rectifier devices and battery equipment selection. This standard applies to the selection, installation, maintenance and testing of battery packs for UPS systems in nuclear power plants. This standard does not apply to the design of UPS components, nor does it apply to the backup battery of the DC output rectifier device. This standard divides exis ing batteries into the following three types:
 ——vented lead-acid batteries (VLA);
 ——valve-regulated lead-acid batteries (VRLA);
 ——nickel-cadmium batteries (Ni-Cd). This standard The standard describes the technical characteris ics and design points of each type of battery to facilitate user use.
