QX/T 272-2015 specifies the full-process technical requirements for measuring sulfur dioxide in the near-surface atmosphere using the ultraviolet fluorescence method. Its technical framework includes:


Measurement principle and technical characteristics

Based on the characteristic that sulfur dioxide molecules release 240-420nm fluorescence after being excited by 200-220nm ultraviolet light, the concentration measurement is achieved by detecting the fluorescence intensity through a photomultiplier tube.

  • Low detection limit: up to nanoliter (nL/L)
  • Strong anti-interference: eliminate interference such as aromatic hydrocarbons through the scrubber
  • High stability: temperature compensation error <2%

Calibration and quality control

Establish a three-level measurement value transfer system:

  • International standard gas (designated by WMO)
  • National standard gas (CMC certified)
  • Working standard gas (for station-level use)

Multi-point calibration requirements:

  • ≥5 concentration points (covering 80-90% of the measuring range)
  • Correlation coefficient R²>0.999
  • Calibrate once every 3 months

Site selection specifications

Should meet the following requirements:

  • Distance from pollution source>10 times the building height
  • Sampling port height 1.5-2m (flat roof)

Data abnormality processing

Invalid data should be marked when the following situations occur:

  1. Data within 15 minutes after calibration
