Introduction
Analysis of the core content of the standard
| Technical dimensions | Key indicators | Test methods |
|---|---|---|
| Operating frequency | 2.7-3.0GHz | Spectrum analyzer measurement (6.5.1) |
| Detection capability | Minimum measurable echo intensity ≤-7.5dBz@50km | Statistical analysis of basic data (6.5.14) |
| Measurement accuracy | Velocity error ≤1m/s, intensity error ≤1dBz | Internal signal injection test (6.5.10-11) |
System composition and functional requirements
S-band Doppler weather radar consists of 8 major subsystems including radome, servo system, transmitter, etc. (Section 5.1), and must have the following features:
- Multi-mode scanning: supports 5 scanning modes including volume scanning (≤6min) and RHI
- Intelligent observation: automatically switches between clear sky and heavy precipitation modes according to precipitation intensity
- Three-level data output: I/Q data, basic data, meteorological products (5.2.1)
Comparison of key technical indicators
| Parameter type | Narrow pulse mode | Wide Pulse Mode |
|---|---|---|
| Pulse Width | 1.57±0.10μs | 4.70±0.25μs |
| PRF Range | 300-1300Hz | 300-450Hz |
| Receiver Bandwidth | 0.63±0.05MHz | 0.21±0.05MHz |
Implementation Recommendations
Typical Application Scenarios
During typhoon monitoring, the heavy precipitation mode (14-layer pitch angle scanning) should be enabled, and the dual PRF technology should be used to resolve the velocity ambiguity problem (clause 5.2.2.2c)
Maintenance points
- Perform solar calibration regularly (6.4.22) to ensure the antenna pointing accuracy is ≤0.05°
- Detect transmitter power fluctuations quarterly (6.5.46) to ensure the external fluctuation is ≤0.3dB
Standard evolution analysis
This standard is mainly upgraded compared with GB/T12648-1990:
- Added special requirements for klystron transmitters (5.3.5)
- Strengthened data quality control algorithm (5.3.7.4)
- Add WMO compatibility requirements (Appendix B)
