RB/T 208-2016 is a professional standard for internal quality control of chemical laboratories, issued by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration, filling the gap in systematic quality control methods in the field of chemical testing in my country. This standard is based on the requirements of the GB/T 27025 and GB/T 19000 series of standards, and has formulated operational specifications for key quality control links in daily laboratory testing activities.

Article 5.3 of the standard clearly requires that the comparison samples must meet the following requirements: homogeneity verification (RSD≤5%), stability monitoring (shelf life verification) and traceability (unique identification). Taking pesticide residue detection as an example, positive samples should pass:

Statistical evaluation method

The standard innovatively proposes a two-stage evaluation method: first verify the precision through the F test (α=0.05), and then use the t test to evaluate the accuracy. When n>6, the combined standard deviation is calculated as follows:

When unsatisfactory results occur, the four-step troubleshooting method should be implemented: original record review → environmental condition verification → standard material verification → method deviation analysis. For example, a laboratory had a deviation in the heavy metal detection comparison, and it was finally confirmed that it was caused by the contamination of the cone of the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer.
