Scope

This standard is applicable to the determination of water content in emulsified asphalt by reflux distillation using a distillation device with a water collector. This standard specifies instruments and methods for determining the water content of emulsified asphalt using the distillation method. The petroleum mixed xylene, xylene and solvent used in the paint industry used in this standard are flammable and have toxic side effects on the human body. The experiment should be conducted in a fume hood or fume hood. This standard does not cover other safety regulations related to use other than solvents. It is the responsibility of the user of the standard to establish appropriate safety application procedures before use.
