Water conservancy and hydropower survey

Introduction

Technical interpretation of the code for geological surveying and mapping of water conservancy and hydropower projects

1. Background and scope of application of the standard revision

This code replaces the SL 299-2004 version, and is mainly aimed at the surveying and mapping work in the geological survey of water conservancy and hydropower projects, and is applicable to:

  • Geological survey of various types of water conservancy and hydropower hub projects
  • Engineering geological survey of water diversion and regulation lines
  • Embankment projects and hazard removal and reinforcement projects
  • Survey of natural building materials

Core revisions: New digital surveying and mapping technical requirements, improved goaf area investigation regulations, and refined karst area surveying and mapping indicators.

2. Basic procedures for surveying and mapping

PhaseWork contentTechnical requirements
PreparationData collection, on-site investigationCollect regional geological maps above 1:50,000
Field surveyingGeological point layout, profile measurementGPS positioning error ≤ 2m
Data collationMap compilation, database constructionComply with SL 73.1 mapping standard

3. Key technical requirements

3.1 Scale selection principles

Determined according to the project stage and geological complexity:

  • Planning stage: 1:50,000~1:25,000
  • Feasibility study: 1:10,000~1:5,000
  • Preliminary design: 1:2,000~1:500

3.2 Mapping of special geological phenomena

Karst areas Need to focus on the following:

  1. Spatial distribution characteristics of karst caves
  2. Underground river connectivity test
  3. Risk of covered karst collapse

4. Application of digital surveying and mapping technology

Recommended:

  • Remote sensing interpretation (resolution ≥ 0.5m)
  • 3D laser scanning
  • Construction of geological information database

Note: The original data needs to be converted into coordinates (2000 National Geodetic Coordinate System)

5. Acceptance criteria for results

Acceptance points include:

  1. Geological point density compliance rate ≥ 90%
  2. Important geological boundary verification rate 100%
  3. Depth of agreement between map and actual situation ≥ 95%
