This standard specifies the inspection methods and technical requirements for using a high volume instrument (HVI) to test the micronaire value, length and uniformity, breaking strength and elongation, color, and impurities of imported and exported cotton. This standard applies to the inspection of imported and exported fine lint cotton and other loose cotton fibers. Long-staple cotton can be used as a reference.
