Scope

This standard specifies methods for rapid detection of Yersinia pestis and hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome hantavirus pathogens carried by rats captured at ports, including the collection and preservation of sample pathogen testing materials, rapid detection of pathogenic antibodies and nucleic acids, and analysis and interpretation of results. This standard is applicable to the detection of Yersinia pestis and hantavirus carried by rats.
