Scope

This standard specifies the HPLC determination method for benzophenone and 4-methylbenzophenone in food simulants. This standard is applicable to the determination of benzophenone and 4-methylbenzophenone in four food simulants: water, 3% (mass concentration) acetic acid solution, 10% (volume fraction) ethanol solution water-based simulants and sunflower oil. The lower limits of determination of benzophenone in water, 3% (mass concentration) acetic acid solution, 10% (volume fraction) ethanol solution water-based simulants and sunflower oil are 0.03 mg/L, 0.04 mg/L and 0.10 mg/kg, respectively. The lower limits of determination of 4-methylbenzophenone in water, 3% (mass concentration) acetic acid solution 10% (volume fraction) ethanol solution water-based simulants and sunflower oil are 0.04 mg/L, 0.05 mg/L, 0.05 mg/L and 0.10 mg/kg, respectively.
