Introduction

Technical background and scope of application of the standard

This standard establishes a GC-MS detection method for six phthalate plasticizers (DBP, BBP, DEHP, DNOP, DIDP and DINP) that may be present in exported fiberboard and particleboard products. It is suitable for quantitative analysis in the content range of 5 mg/kg to 100 mg/kg.

Analysis of technical points

1. Principles of characteristic ion selection

The standard stipulates the use of 4 characteristic ions for qualitative and quantitative analysis (such as 149, 167, 279, and 150 for DEHP), among which the relative abundance deviation requirement of the base peak ion is: when it is >50%, a deviation of ±10% is allowed, and when it is <10%, it is relaxed to ±50%.

2. Method Validation Data

Verified through spike-in recovery experiments: the quantification limits of DINP and DIDP are 50 mg/kg, and the quantification limits of the other four phthalates are 10 mg/kg, which meet the restrictions on plasticized materials under the EU REACH regulation.


Implementation Recommendations

  1. During sample preparation, the plate should be cut into 5mm×5mm small pieces to improve extraction efficiency
  2. It is recommended that the standard solution be prepared and used immediately, and stored at 4°C for no more than 6 days
  3. Regularly verify the chromatographic column separation performance with a DIDP/DINP mixed standard

Compared with the GB/T 22048-2015 method, the innovations of this standard are:
① Optimization of the chromatographic separation conditions for high-boiling-point substances such as DIDP/DINP
② Adoption of a segmented concentration calibration strategy (2 g/L for low-boiling-point substances such as DBP, 20 g/L for high-boiling-point substances such as DIDP)
