Scope

This standard specifies the structural form, dimensional specifications, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules of the joints, pipe bodies and friction welding areas of friction welded drill pipes (hereinafter referred to as drill pipes), as well as the marking and packaging requirements of drill pipes. This standard applies to drill pipes used in drilling in oil, natural gas and other industries.
