Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution

SY/T 5660-2020 is a comprehensive upgrade of the 1995 version of the standard. The main technological changes are reflected in:

Analysis of core performance indicators

Key parameter requirements

The standard stipulates that the intrinsic viscosity tested by the Ubbelohde viscometer must be ≥6.0 100mL/g, the apparent viscosity of 1% aqueous solution must be ≥30.0mPa·s, and the linear expansion reduction rate of the core must be>50%. After hot rolling at 120℃ for 16h, salt-resistant products must still maintain the following:

  • Apparent viscosity>10.0mPa·s
  • Low-temperature and low-pressure filtration loss reduction rate>60%

Instrument and equipment specifications

The standard clearly requires the use of professional equipment such as Fann35 rotational viscometer and NP-01 shale expansion tester, among which:

  • The high-speed agitator must meet the speed of 11000r/min±300r/min
  • The capillary diameter of the Ubbelohde viscometer is limited to 0.55-0.57mm
  • The temperature control accuracy of the constant temperature water bath is ±0.2℃

Implementation suggestions and precautions

Inspection link

Sampling shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 6679, and the total amount ≥1kg shall be divided into 3 portions. Special attention:

  1. The intrinsic viscosity test needs to be controlled at a constant temperature of 30℃
  2. The flocculation time measurement needs to use a 250mL stoppered measuring cylinder with a scale
  3. Before the high temperature performance test, nitrogen must be passed at 0.7MPa for 30s

Safety protection

The standard adds Chapter 7 with clear requirements:

  • Operators need to wear protective glasses
  • When materials are scattered, they must be immediately adsorbed with inert materials
  • Waste packaging should be uniformly recycled
