Scope
This standard specifies the procedures for testing and evaluating the pressure bearing performance of end connections under fire conditions. The procedures are described in two chapters. Chapter 3 specifies the requirements for fire resistance testing of end connections for onshore or offshore use. Chapter 4 specifies the requirements for fire resistance testing of end connections for offshore platforms. This standard applies to end connections specified in SY/T 5127-2002: a) Flanged end and outlet connections (Type 6B, Type 6BX and fan-shaped). b) Threaded end and outlet connections. c) Other end and outlet connections (OECs). Background information on end connection fire resistance testing is provided in API TR 6F1. Background information on flange fire resistance improvement technology is provided in API TR 6F2. This standard does not cover valves, wellhead seals or other related equipment.
