Introduction
Analysis of the core content of the standard
SY/T 7694-2023 established for the first time a complete technical system for the repair and remanufacturing of oil drilling and production equipment, focusing on standardizing the return to factory repair process of wellhead equipment and Christmas trees. The standard clearly distinguishes the difference between repair (RPR) and remanufacturing (RMFR):
| Items | Repair (RPR) | Remanufacturing (RMFR) |
|---|---|---|
| Process scope | Excludes machining/welding | Includes complete manufacturing process |
| Parts replacement | Only non-pressure-bearing parts | Replacement of all parts is allowed |
| Performance requirements | Restore original function | Not lower than the performance of the original equipment |
RSL specification level system
The standard innovatively proposes a 4-level repair and remanufacturing specification level (RSL), which is consistent with GB/T 22513's PSL formation correspondence:
| Original PSL level | Repair of RSL is allowed | Remanufacturing of RSL is required |
|---|---|---|
| PSL1 | RSL1 | RSL1 |
| PSL2 | RSL1-2 | RSL2 |
| PSL3(G) | RSL1-3(G) | RSL3(G) |
| PSL4 | RSL1-4 | RSL4 |
Key technical requirements
Material control
The materials of pressure-bearing parts must meet the requirements of GB/T 20972 for hydrogen sulfide environments, including:
- RSL3(G)/RSL4: Material traceability is mandatory
- WPQ process assessment is required for welding repairs
- The thickness of the weld overlay layer shall not be less than the value specified by PQR
Inspection specifications
The standard specifies the requirements for graded testing:
| Test items | RSL1 | RSL2 | RSL3(G) | RSL4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Surface NDE | Optional | Required | Mandatory | Mandatory |
| Hardness test | Optional | Required | Mandatory | Mandatory |
| Reuse of seals | Prohibited | Prohibited | Prohibited | Prohibited |
Implementation Suggestions
Enterprise Application Cases
Special attention should be paid to the remanufacturing of the Christmas tree in a certain oil field:
- Establish a complete assessment procedure (refer to Appendix A)
- RSL4 level prohibits welding to repair flange leak detection holes
- Keep quality records for more than 10 years
- Both old and new marks must be retained
Standard Evolution Analysis
Compared with SY/T 5328-2019, the breakthroughs of this standard are:
- For the first time, the definition of remanufactured parts is clarified
- Establish an RSL grading management system
- Refine the technical requirements for welding repair
- Strengthen traceability requirements
