Introduction
The Standard T/CCAS 032-2023, titled "Method for Testing the Resistance to Carbon Dioxide Erosion of Oil Well Cement Stone," was published on December 26, 2023 and will come into effect on February 1, 2024. This standard provides a detailed procedure for assessing the resilience of oil well cement against the corrosive effects of carbon dioxide. It aims to ensure that materials used in the construction of oil wells can withstand the harsh environmental conditions often encountered deep underground, where exposure to high concentrations of CO2 is common.
