Scope
Test Method
1. Gelation Degree
Principle: The relative density of rubber particles is lower than that of the aqueous phase whey, and some rubber particles with dehydration gel tendency will float to the surface of the latex during its static placement process, accumulating to form a toothpaste-like semi-gel.
Steps: Weigh 150g of natural latex sample filtered through stainless steel mesh into a 250mL beaker. Pour it into a 100mL stoppered graduated cylinder up to the 100mL mark, then tighten the stopper and place it in an environment at (25±1)℃ for 4 hours. Observe and record the gel volume of natural latex from top to bottom.
2. Viscosity
Principle: The viscosity value is determined based on the shear force and resistance relationship between a rotational viscometer rotor and the fluid.
Steps: Use stainless steel mesh to filter the natural latex sample, adjust its solid content to 55% with 1.6% ammonia water, then weigh 300g of this latex sample into a 300mL vertical beaker. Regulate the temperature of the natural latex sample to 25℃ using a water bath, let it sit for 2 hours until bubbles are eliminated, and proceed with measurement. First, screw the No.1 rotor counterclockwise onto the viscometer output shaft, then screw the rotor guard counterclockwise into the bottom end of the instrument, place the rotor at the center of the latex sample, and slowly immerse it in the sample until the liquid level marker on the rotor rod aligns with the sample liquid surface. Turn on the viscometer, set the speed to 60 rpm, perform the test, record when readings stabilize, conduct two parallel measurements. If the difference between the two measurements exceeds 3 mpa.s, re-measure and take the average of the two values as the viscosity value.
