Scope

This document specifies the inspection methods and basic requirements for the performance of high-frequency induction heating infrared thermal imaging flaw detectors (hereinafter referred to as infrared flaw detectors). This document applies to automatic infrared flaw detector systems that detect surface defects in steel bars and billets. It does not apply to manually operated infrared flaw detectors, nor to infrared flaw detectors that use other heating methods.
