Scope

This standard specifies the ion chromatography-integrated pulse amperometric method for the determination of free amino acids in tobacco and tobacco products. This standard applies to arginine, lysine, tryptophan, alanine, threonine, glycine, valine, serine, proline, isoleucine, leucine, etc. in tobacco and tobacco products. Determination of 18 common free amino acids such as methionine, histidine, phenylalanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, cystine, and tyrosine. The detection limits and quantitation limits of this method for the determination of free amino acids in tobacco and tobacco products are shown in Appendix A.
