Scope
This standard specifies the 900/1800MHz TDMA digital cellular mobile communication network General Packet Data Service (GPRS) wireless interface media access control/radio link control (MAC/RLC) protocol. It includes an overview of the GPRS wireless interface, media access control (MAC) procedures in common channel and packet transmission mode, radio link control (RLC) procedures in packet transmission mode, MAC/RLC block structure, message format and parameters and timers defined in the protocol. This standard applies to 900/1800MHz TDMA digital cellular mobile communication network GPRS terminals and network equipment, and provides technical basis for the introduction of GPRS systems and terminal equipment, network planning and equipment, equipment manufacturing, engineering design, network operation, management and maintenance, etc.
