Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, markings, instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage of non-absorbable surgical sutures. This standard applies to non-absorbable surgical sutures (hereinafter referred to as sutures) used for suturing and ligating human tissues during medical operations.
